A vessel is filled with water - some practitioners choose to use rain water, others spring water and still others distilled water; there is no right or wrong water to use, if it speaks to you and your craft and your purposes, it is right for you - and left outdoors during the night of a full moon to charge. Many practitioners also place herbs or gemstones in or around their moon water to infuse it with energy and intention. However, when placed INSIDE, you then need to strain out your water as well as the fact that there are several gemstones (that still have wonderful energy) which cannot be placed in water without damaging them or making your water poisonous!
